Dipl.-Phys. Dipl.-Kfm. Jan Wienhausen has been a patent attorney as well as an accredited representative before the European Patent Office since 2010. He is also an accredited representative for trademarks and designs before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante.
After studying physics in Aachen and Hamburg as well as economics in Hagen, Jan Wienhausen joined Universität Hamburg as a research assistant. He subsequently completed his practical training to become a patent attorney with Raffay & Fleck. Once accredited, he joined Raffay & Fleck as a patent attorney, where he became partner in 2012.
His main fields of expertise, in addition to trademark and design law, include the fields of physics, optics, acoustics, telecommunications, software, cryptography, deep learning and IT as well as technical chemistry, environmental engineering, food engineering and textile engineering. He is also very interested in the cyber law and unfair competition law. He has extensive experience regarding FRAND licenses and infringement procedures concerning standard-essential patents (SEP).
